These sustainable habitats will live inside a unique jar that can be made to sit on its side or upright, with an awesome flat “viewing window” on each side. Each layer you add will help promote the healthiest eco-friendly terrarium. Pebbles (including some Jade), carbon coal, my custom mix of soil and carefully selected mosses. You’ll receive at least 3 varieties of native mosses from the mountains of Northern PA to add variation and depth to your habitats. The mosses are not treated- they are completely ORGANIC. The violets are a minimum of 1” tall and 3 or more leaves. Availability may be limited.

I am licensed to grow, harvest & sell native mosses & lichens, ensuring I’m providing you with the highest quality products! (Licensing is a little known requirement & very few sellers go through the long process/inspections to do it properly) I harvest the wild moss, then plant it in plugs and grow it in my little greenhouse! This conserves natural resources by harvesting smaller amounts, and also prepares your moss for container planting!
MY PROCESS:
I take great care in selecting pieces of moss, plants, lichens and mushrooms in the forest. Then I expand the crop by growing the plugs in my at-home greenhouse.
The benefits are twofold:
1) Prevents overharvesting in the forest
2) Helps acclimate the moss to a terrarium type setting- increasing your odds of successful growing!
